The Blood of Dawnwalker doesn’t build its threat around one final boss. Instead, Brencis rules through a court of distinct, centuries-old vampires, each with their own personality, domain, and reason to fear or fight Coen. Here’s what’s known about the five vampires revealed so far — three of Brencis’ officers, the lord himself, and Coen.

Brencis — the ancient Roman lord

The ruler of Vale Sangora and the game’s primary antagonist. Born Caeso Burrienus Laurentius in Ancient Rome (AD 131) to a wealthy, land-owning family, Brencis has had over a thousand years to accumulate power. He’s the one who tries to turn Coen, the one who holds his family’s fate, and the figure at the center of every major choice. For his full role in the plot, see our story and characters guide.

Ambrus — the blood broker

Ambrus controls the supply of blood across Vale Sangora, trafficking humans for their “crimson byproducts.” He’s less a brute and more an administrator of misery — the logistics behind the blood tax. That makes him a natural target if you want to strike at the system rather than the throne directly.

Bakir — the savage

Bakir is framed as especially fearsome. His official description notes he “thirsted for blood even before he was turned” — implying he was already a violent man in life, and vampirism only sharpened it. Expect him to be one of the more combat-focused threats.

Xanthe — the elder priestess

Older than all the others, Xanthe comes from an Ancient Greek island, where she served as a priestess. Her age suggests power and cunning beyond the rest of the court, and her mysterious background hints she may be more than a simple enforcer.

Coen — the fifth “vampire”

The protagonist counts among the five precisely because he isn’t fully one of them. As a Dawnwalker — human by day, vampire by night — Coen is the wildcard the court doesn’t know how to categorize. That liminal status is both his weakness and his weapon.

Why this roster matters

A spread of named, motivated vampires gives the story multiple pressure points. You likely won’t face them all the same way: some may be enemies, some may be manipulated, and your infamy with the vampire court will shape how they respond to you (see our infamy system guide). We’ll publish dedicated boss strategies for each encounter once the game is out — follow the News feed for reveals.
