Day vs Night: Human & Vampire Abilities
Coen is human by day and vampire by night — and the two halves play completely differently. Toggle a side to focus it (and flip the whole site to that time of day).
| Aspect | ☀ Day — Human | ☾ Night — Vampire |
|---|---|---|
| Form | Fully human — Coen as he was born. | The vampire half, unleashed. |
| Out in the world | Move freely in daylight, blend in among the living. | Heightened senses and reach — but you draw attention. |
| Dealing with people | Talk, trade, and take on quests with townsfolk. | Intimidation, feeding, and darker conversation options. |
| Combat | Grounded human fighting with steel and tools. | Supernatural strength, speed, blood drain, hex magic, and wolf form. |
| The trade-off | Restraint keeps Coen's humanity intact. | Raw power at the cost of who he is. |
| Watch out for | Limited supernatural power when you need muscle. | Higher infamy, vampiric weaknesses, and a moral toll. |
| Plays like | The human / penitent path. | The predator / vampire path. |

When should you use each form?
The smart play is matching the form to the moment, not picking a favourite. Daylight is for the social and human side of the valley — gathering information, trading, and quests that need a human face. Night is when Coen's vampire power is at its peak: brute problems, locked-off routes, and fights where you want the upper hand.
But the night isn't free. Leaning on the vampire half tends to raise your infamy, and it chips away at Coen's humanity — a running narrative choice rather than a pure power pick. For the deeper mechanics, read Vampire Powers & Wolf Form and Combat & Hex Magic.
